Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children.
Ranked among the best pediatric medical centers in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s provided care for youngsters from every county in Alabama, 42 other states and seven foreign countries last year, representing more than 677,000 outpatient visits and more than 15,000 inpatient admissions. With more than 2 million square feet, it is one of the largest pediatric medical facilities in the United States.
A staff member at Children’s took a moment to tell us about some of their favorite features and answer a couple of questions regarding the Staxi Medical Chair:
Regarding the longevity of Staxi Medical Chairs:
“We have been using staxi chairs for 10 years now. Have never had a problem. We have reordered chair pads for them one time, other than that, they are always in service. We have not had one damaged in all these years.”
How does your team keep the chairs where they’re meant to be:
“Our major use is at our information desks for guests visiting patients. We require the person wanting the chair to leave his/her drivers license or other form of ID in order to use the chair. That is one way to make sure they are returned to us, as we are in an unusual situation where our hospital is connected to two others. It is also a way to make sure the chairs are not left outside when the person gets in a vehicle. Being a large campus of four blocks, issues like this can be a problem.”
What is one of your favorite features of the Staxi Medical Chair:
“How easy it is to clean. The desk staff gives them a quick wipe with a sani-wipe and the chair is ready to go again.”
